A Note from MIss Kim

Dear Parents,

Our Annual Year-End Recital is well on its way, and we’ve been diligently planning on an exciting end to our 2020-2021 season.

A dance recital is always an exciting time for a dancer and their families. It is our goal to make your dancer’s day as organized and memorable as possible! Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call us at the studio. We thank you for the gift of your wonderful and talented children and look forward to working with you on this year's recital, especially during these trying times with our world dealing with a pandemic and the restrictions that go with that.

We have received notice that area schools will not be allowing any rentals this year. Even the park we used last year is not allowing events at this time. Luckily, we do have back up plans to make sure our dancers will be able to show off all their hard work and we are excited to announce that this year's recital will be at the Scottish Rite Auditorium in Collingswood, NJ. While not the same, it will be just as magical and a whole lot of fun for our dancers and their families. And, it's on a inside STAGE!!!

Even though the show will be on a different stage; the same love, sweat and tears will go into the show! We are restricted to smaller audience size and no assigned seating so will be selling ticket packages versus individual tickets. EACH DANCE FAMILY WITH STUDENTS PERFORMING IN THE RECITAL IS REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A TICKET PACKAGE [one package per family]. The proceeds will go toward paying for the venue, staff salaries, programs, a professional video of the shows, pins, trophies, sound+lighting, and everything else that goes into making this a special day.

So let's "Make a Wish" for a fabulous day to showcase our wonderful dancers!

COSTUMES

PICK UP DAY

Ages 7 & under (combo classes)

There will be a designated date and time for costumes to be picked up at the studio. An explanation of how straps, hair and hats are to be worn will be explained at that time.

*You will receive an email with your Costume Pickup date/time.

Ages 7 and Up (Hour Classes)

Costumes will be distributed the last 15 minutes of class during the week of- TBD

*You will receive an email with your Costume Pickup date/time.

Please Note:

*PARENTS or TEENS [with permission] MUST SIGN OUT COSTUMES AT FRONT DESK.

*We will go through all the costumes and pieces before taking them home to be sure each student has everything.

*All Tuition for the year must be paid in full before costumes can be handed out!

*Only credit cards and cash are accepted. No checks.

Care/Alterations

Costume Alterations- (MDS is not responsible for any alterations or replacements to costumes) When you receive your costume, you most likely will need to make alterations to make sure that your child’s costume fits properly and that all parts are secure. The costume companies send us a costume that is closest to your child’s measurements, but few are exact fits. If there are any wrinkles, we suggest hanging the costume in a steamy bathroom. Do Not Place Iron directly onto costumes. Please do not let your child wear the costume before the performance! We cannot get replacements!

REHEARSAL/RECITAL DATES/TIMES/LOCATIONS

Rehearsal Dates/Location

Rehearsals will be done in the dancer's class. There will be no costumes worn for this. Dancers will practice walking on and off stage. They will also discuss what to expect at the recital.

RECITAL DATES

June 1st, 2nd, 3rd 2021- shows will run between 5p-10pm each evening.

RECITAL TICKET PACKAGES- EACH DANCE FAMILY IS REQUIRED TO PURCHASE A TICKET PACKAGE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RECITAL. AT THIS TIME, ONLY TWO PEOPLE PER FAMILY MAY ATTEND THE SHOWS. IF THE VENUE, STATE AND CDC CHANGE THE NUMBERS WE WILL OPEN UP MORE SEATING.

**As live streaming can be finicky, we are not responsible if we should lose internet during the performance.

PICTURES/VIDEOS

To keep costs down for our families while ensuring that you will have this special memory of your dancer’s performance, your Professionally Digitalized Recital Video is included in your Ticket Packages! This video will be of not only your dancer's routine(s) but the entire show!

We are lucky to have Nick Marmarou of Scarlett Production and Video Photography shooting the recitals along with taking Action Shots!!! While the Digital Recital Video is included in both packages, actions shots are not. You will be able to purchase action shots shortly after the recital on our website.

PROGRAM ADS/BOOSTERS

Sending your favorite dancer (or favorite dance class!) a personalized "ad" in our recital program is a great way to commemorate their dance year. Family and friends may also purchase a “Shout Out” line to say “Good Luck” or “Break A Leg”. This is also a great way to advertise a business to local families!
